Nick Smith has been a professional educator for over three decades and is currently the Director of Brainspring's tutoring dept. Brainspring Learning Centers help students of all ages and skill levels become masters of learning with effective, fun, multisensory lessons. Brainspring offers both in-person tutoring in the Metro-Detroit area as well as virtual tutoring. Nick earned the Brainspring Orton-Gillingham Dyslexia Specialist certification from Brainspring Educator Academy in 2005. He is passionate about helping children learn to read using Brainspring’s Phonics First and Structures Orton-Gillingham-based curriculums. Both Phonics First and Structures are accredited at the Accreditation Plus level through the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) and at the Teaching and Instructor of Teaching level through the International Multisensory Structured Education Council (IMSLEC). With expertise in structured literacy, dyslexia, Orton-Gillingham, and the science of reading, Nick supports tutors in creating engaging lessons designed to improve student success in reading, spelling, and writing.
