Alisa Fountain is an Academic Tutor in the Learning Center of a private school following a long, 30+ year career as a high school science teacher, school-based speech-language pathologist, and clinical associate professor in communication sciences and disorders at the University of Georgia. She currently provides content-area, language, and literacy tutoring services to middle and high school students, yet has worked with all grade levels and adults throughout her career. She earned her WRS Level 1 Certification in January 2016, completed the Orton-Gillingham Classroom Educator Course in June 2017, and received her CDP certification from IDA/CERI in February 2018. To date, she has completed half of the requirements for WRS Level 2 Certification. In previous years, she was appointed and served on the Georgia State Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (Georgia Licensure Board) and as a site visitor for the Council of Academic Accreditation for ASHA.
