Provider Bio
Alisa Fountain is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Georgia in the Department of Communication Sciences and Special Education. She instructs CMSD graduate students in their clinical practicum courses at the UGA Speech and Hearing Clinic, including instruction in language and literacy. Additionally, she provides direct Wilson Reading System intervention to clients in the clinic, and she supervises graduate clinicians delivering Orton-Gillingham based intervention. She earned her WRS Level 1 Certification in January 2016, completed the Orton-Gillingham Classroom Educator Course in June 2017, and received her CDP certification from IDA/CERI in February 2018. To date, she has completed half of the requirements for WRS Level 2 Certification. She was appointed and served on the Georgia State Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (Georgia Licensure Board) in previous years. Prior to joining the faculty at UGA in 2008, she practiced as a school-based speech-language pathologist (SLP) and was a high school science teacher before becoming an SLP.
