Provider Bio
Andrea Chapman has been teaching elementary school for over 16 years. She has taught 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. Since her teaching career began, she noticed that many of her students either had dyslexia or reading disabilities. This began her search in how to effectively teach children who struggle with reading. She has completed her Orton-Gillingham Practicum through the Institute of Multisensory Education and has received her certification. She also has been trained with the Academy of Orton-Gillingham. She is has received her Certification in Structured Literacy through LETRS, an approved accredited program with International Dyslexia Association. Her passion is helping children of all ages become effective readers and to increase their own sense of self-confidence. By using the multimodalities and structured literacy in my instruction, students make connections, build learning pathways, and become self-sufficient readers. The smiles on their faces is rewarding in itself and ignites her to continue learning! She is a member of the International Dyslexia Association and Decoding Dyslexia Georgia.
