Provider Bio
Biography
Megan Cawlfield has been a Pediatric SLP since 2009. She has worked in a variety of settings, including private outpatient clinics, schools, daycares, and homes. In 2020, she stepped into a world of self-advocacy and self-education and began to help families navigate resources within communities and schools. Seeing a need to support parents who advocate alone, she formed Virtual Milestone Academy and in seeing the need for more knowledge about dyslexia, she went back to school and found possibilities for greater collaboration. She is a lifelong learner who is certified in Structured Literacy Dyslexia Intervention, as well as a member of ASHA, and a member of the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates and holds a certificate in Dyslexia Advocacy at the Dyslexia Training Institute.
Aside from dyslexia, I am trained and experienced with children who have many diagnoses including, but not limited to articulation disorder, developmental language disorders, apraxia, dysgraphia, ADHD, Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, Down Syndrome, and motor delays. I recognize the challenges these students and families face; I include families and teams of professionals in my interventions and consultations.
Virtual Milestone Academy supports the team that participates in guiding children through therapy and tutoring services. This is a parent, teacher, tutor, therapist, advocate, or caregiver who supports a child.
VMA provides tutoring services through guided Reading Interventions and Camps in Northwest Arkansas. For more information, please visit me at Virtual Milestone Academy dot com.
