I have been an educator since 2018. I spent my first year teaching through the U.S. Fulbright program in Lampang, Thailand. Through this experience, I was able to teach English as a foreign language to students in grades K-8 in a rural Thai school. Upon returning to the US, I began my journey teaching in public schools in South Florida. I have had instructional positions in self contained ESE settings, ESE support services, and general education classrooms. In all of these positions, I have used a variety of structured literacy interventions to support students with and without IEPs. Realizing I needed more training in teaching literacy, I sought out the Dyslexia Certificate from University of Florida in 2022. In 2024, I completed a Masters in Reading from University of Florida. I have used my knowledge from these programs to impact classroom instruction and private tutoring sessions. I aim to continue to learn more about structured literacy practices and stay up-to-date on current research in the field.
