Nikki has a passion for promoting the understanding of the best practices in education that support the needs of all learners, but specifically those learners with dyslexia. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education from Edinboro University and her Master's Degree in Education: Reading Specialist also from Edinboro University. Her two dyslexic children inspired her to specialize her training and advocate for children with learning differences as well as educate others. Nikki spent 16 years in public education while residing in Pennsylvania. During this time she was a part of the Pennsylvania Dyslexia Pilot Program. In her 21 years in education, Nikki has worked as a literacy coach, reading specialist, and classroom teacher and is currently the Associate Director and Tutoring Program Coordinator at The Hill School of Wilmington. She completed training through Wilson Reading, Compass Reading Center, Dyslexia Training Institute, LETRS, The Hill Learning Center, ALTA, and IMSLEC (Instructor of Teaching). She is also a certified Hill Mentor. Nikki and her husband Matt reside in Calabash, NC. She has 3 children, a step-daughter Kara (23), a son Tanner (18), and a daughter Jade (15).
