From a young age, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. During my elementary school years, I struggled with spelling, writing, and reading. Determined to prevent other children from experiencing the same challenges and sense of defeat, I pursued a career in education. With over twenty-five years of experience as a classroom teacher, I have also conducted staff development sessions focused on teaching reading based on the science of reading research. My expertise spans pre-kindergarten through third grade. Currently, I serve as a Developmental Learning Specialist in the Syosset Central School District.
