Provider Bio
I am an Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in literacy and language-based learning challenges such as dyslexia. I am Orton-Gillingham certified at the Associate level and hold the Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist credential from the International Dyslexia Association. In addition to working as a school-based SLP, I am currently pursuing licensure as a Reading Specialist through Gordon College.
I received my BA in Cognitive Neuroscience from Boston University and MS in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the Speech, Hearing, Bioscience and Technology program within the Harvard-MIT Health Science Technology Division. My graduate research was in Dr. John Gabrieli's lab, focusing on the behavioral and brain basis of phonological working memory and grammatical processing in typical and atypical language development. I completed my clinical training in speech-language pathology at the MGH Institute of Health Professions. I have been employed professionally as a school-based SLP since 2016. I currently work as a Special Education Reading Teacher and SLP at Haverhill Public Schools, where I provide specialized, structured literacy intervention to students with literacy and associated disorders, as well as continuing to provide speech-language assessment and SLPA supervision. Between 8/2023-12/2024, I completed Associate’s Level Orton Gillingham training under the supervision of a Fellow of the Academy of Orton Gillingham Practitioners, including 70 hours of coursework and a 100-lesson supervised practicum, and am currently completing the Reading Spec licensure program through Gordon College. I have completed numerous other trainings in literacy, including those through the Landmark School, IMSE, AIM, Hill for Literacy, Lindamood Bell, and others. In addition, I currently serve as the Member at Large for the Massachusetts branch of the International Dyslexia Association and as Secretary of the Massachusetts Speech-Hearing Association (MSHA), and am a member of the Schools Advisory Council. I am extremely passionate about literacy improvement and education, and firmly believe that literacy is a civil right. To this end, I have dedicated myself to not only improving literacy outcomes in the students I serve, but to helping bring about literacy reform in public education, and improving the training of those studying to be literacy teachers and interventionists.
