I was born in Oklahoma City, Ok. and currently live in southwest Oklahoma. I have a bachelor's degree in Education from Cameron University, a master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction (Literacy Emphasis) from University of Texas, Arlington, a master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Erikson Institute, and a graduate certificate in Dyslexia from Indiana University. I just completed a Dyslexia micro credential by completing Pathways to Proficient Reading from Aim Institute. I have worked in education since 2002 with seventeen years teaching PreK-1st and five years teaching reading and early childhood courses to preservice teachers at Cameron University. I am currently back in the public school system teaching first grade, where I feel that I am making a bigger difference.
