Dr. Lymaris Santana is a literacy leader with over two decades of experience improving instructional quality and student outcomes across K–12 systems. Her work spans classroom, district leadership, and statewide consulting roles, with a focus on evidence-based literacy practices for both early and adolescent readers, multilingual education, and instructional coaching.
She has led strategic literacy initiatives as a State Regional Literacy Director at the Florida Department of Education and as Program Manager for the Northwest Comprehensive Center. She has collaborated with research institutions, school districts, and state agencies to design high-impact professional learning, facilitate communities of practice, and strengthen systems through data-informed strategies. Bilingual and biliterate, she draws on her lived experiences to connect with diverse communities and ensure that her work reflects both research and real-world perspectives. Her work is grounded in the belief that every child deserves access to excellent reading instruction, and that educators, when well-supported, are the key to unlocking that promise.
She holds a Doctorate in Leadership and Literacy, multiple master’s degrees in reading and education, and is a certified Reading Specialist and Instructional Coach.
