Sarah Fisher-ReidStructured Literacy/Dyslexia Interventionist
Provider Bio
I am a Literacy Specialist with over ten years of professional experience in literacy instruction and the founder and director of a structured literacy centre operating for the past six years with instructional staff under my supervision. My professional practice is grounded in evidence-based methodologies and structured, systematic approaches to reading, spelling, and written language instruction.
I hold certification as an Associate Level Orton-Gillingham Practitioner through the Orton-Gillingham Academy and have completed dyslexia certification through the Dyslexia Training Institute. My work is informed by structured literacy principles consistent with the science of reading, including explicit instruction in phonological awareness, orthographic mapping, morphology, syntax, and etymology. I integrate assessment-informed instruction and apply diagnostic teaching practices to support learners with diverse language-processing profiles, including those with dyslexia and related language-based learning differences.
I engage in ongoing professional development through advanced coursework, research-based working groups, and continuous study in English orthography and structured word inquiry. This sustained engagement ensures alignment with current empirical research, established instructional standards, and emerging developments in literacy science. My leadership responsibilities include oversight of instructional fidelity, staff training, and implementation of structured, cumulative literacy programming consistent with recognized professional standards.
