Provider Bio

Bonnie Garcia, Ed.D has been in education for the past 17 years. She began her career in education as a paraprofessional, working in alternative education and juvenile hall settings. Realizing her passion for helping the youth, she graduated with her BA in psychology and minor in business and decided to become a general education teacher. After a few years, Dr. Garcia realized a deeper desire to serve students with mild/moderate disabilities, such as dyslexia. Her role in this area grew when she became a special education program specialist in the areas of reading and instructional technology. She has been trained through the Academy of Orton Gillingham, as well as the Institute of Multisensory Education.
