Provider Bio

Bonnie Nicks, the founder of the Learning Center, has centered her life on helping struggling learners. During her thirty-year career in public school systems, Bonnie observed holes in the education programs centered around students who learn differently. Since opening The Learning Center in 2007, she and her staff have provided research-based multisensory intervention to struggling readers. Bonnie holds training certificates from Ron Yoshimoto, Bright Solutions for Dyslexia, Lexercise, IMSE, and The Orton Gillingham Academy. Bonnie is not only passionate about improving literacy but also making it more accessible. As such, in 2019 she founded a non-profit ReadAbility, Inc. whose mission is to champion change by breaking the cycle of generational poverty dyslexia creates through low literacy.
