Professional Bio for Carla L. Goins
Carla Goins is the founder and president of Lily’s Reading Room, Inc., in the City of Falls Church. Lily’s Reading Room is a small firm that offers academic therapy services to clients, with an emphasis on reading, spelling, handwriting, and written expression instruction. Mrs. Goins currently works with students diagnosed with dyslexia, and other educational and learning diagnoses.
Mrs. Goins is an accomplished special educator, teaching in both public and private schools for over 30 years. Since her retirement from educational institutions, she has extended her private practice working with students, one-on-one, primarily in reading and writing using a multi-sensory Orton-Gillingham remediation approach. She is a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) and a Structured Literacy/Dyslexia Specialist with the International Dyslexia Association.
