Provider Bio
When Chris was six, her grandparents took her to a wild horse sanctuary. Upon seeing the painted Dakota stallions running across the Black Hills of South Dakota, Chris decided she wanted to become one of “those” when she grew up. Since then, Chris has instead developed a deep passion for teaching children to read. She is thrilled to be working as a Dyslexia Specialist at Elgin Intermediate School near Austin, Texas. Chris also loves spending her summers volunteering at Healing with Horses, a horse therapy center for kids. Chris Prindle earned her B.A. in English Literature and Education from Azusa Pacific University. She went on to the University of Colorado in Denver to earn a Special Education teaching license. She has completed a Masters of Arts in Teaching degree through the Literacy Specialist Intervention and Reading Specialist program at Colorado College. Chris has 5+ years of intervention experience in both special education and general education settings. She is a past board member for the Rocky Mountain ALTA chapter. Chris is an enthusiastic educator and advocate for equal access to literacy best practices in the United States.
