Deb is a certified member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), the Colorado State Speech and Hearing Association (CSHA) and the International Dyslexia Association (IDA). She previously served on the board for the Rocky Mountain Branch of the International Dyslexia Association. She owned and operated a multidisciplinary pediatric therapy practice in Denver for over 14 years employing speech language pathologists, occupational therapists and reading interventionists. She is currently employed by a private school in the Denver area providing speech, language and literacy services. She has extensive training relating to early literacy, language-based learning disabilities (dyslexia), and motor speech disorders (apraxia). She is skilled in both the diagnostic assessment and treatment of language-based learning disabilities and has experience serving on multidisciplinary teams. She is trained in PROMPT and the Kaufman Program for treatment of apraxia and has advanced Orton Gillingham training. She is a recipient of the ASHA “ACE” Award for her commitment to Continuing Education.
Debra Received her B.A. in Psychology and Linguistics from the University of Manitoba, Canada in 1991. She completed her Master’s of Science Degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Minot State University, North Dakota in 1993.
