Provider Bio

Following her love of literature and writing, Devon Lovell started her career as a high school English teacher. It was not until she started working at a community-based non-profit in Chicago that she became interested in how people acquire reading. Devon ran a tutoring program that worked with Chicago Public School children and sought training in best practices for teaching struggling learners to read. She became Orton-Gillingham certified and created an O/G based literacy tutoring program within the larger tutoring program. After working in Chicago for over 20 years, Devon has spent the last few years working as a literacy consultant for Step By Step Learning, coaching schools in their literacy journey.
