Denise Sherman has 11 years working as a professional educator. She earned the Brainspring Orton-Gillingham Dyslexia Specialist certification from Brainspring Educator Academy in 2022. She is a Certified Academic Language Therapist with the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA). Denise is passionate about helping children learn to read using Brainspring’s Phonics First and Structures Orton-Gillingham-based curriculums. Both Phonics First and Structures are accredited at the Accreditation Plus level through the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) and at the Teaching and Instructor of Teaching level through the International Multisensory Structured Education Council (IMSLEC). Denise is also passionate about bringing Phonics First and Structures into schools worldwide by providing teachers with Brainspring’s Phonics First and Structures professional development courses. With expertise in structured literacy, dyslexia, Orton-Gillingham, handwriting, and the science of reading, Denise supports teachers, interventionists, and tutors in creating engaging lessons designed to improve student success in reading, spelling, and writing.
