Provider Bio

Dr. Madda has worked in the field of education for over 20 years. She holds a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Literacy, Language, and Culture. She is Professor of Literacy Education at Northeastern Illinois University where she works to prepare teachers as Reading Specialists and Literacy Coaches. As Director of the NEIU Literacy Center, she supervises graduate students in the Literacy Education program as they provide tutoring services to children and adolescents with reading difficulties. Dr. Madda is passionate about supporting young readers as they develop the skills, strategies, and dispositions necessary for lifelong reading success. In 2025, she earned certification in the SLANT System as a Structured Literacy and Dyslexia specialist.
