Matthew began his teaching career in Fairfax County, Virginia in 2006, having experience in primary and upper elementary grade levels in various roles; lead teacher, multilingual language learner teacher, after school programs, and ESL/MLL departmental lead. After earning a Masters of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction and Reading Specialist certification in 2012 from George Mason University, he began teaching in Washington, D.C. Matthew also holds a Special Education certification and is now a third through fifth grade special education literacy teacher for the District of Columbia Public Schools.
