Deb is a certified member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), the Colorado State Speech and Hearing Association (CSHA) and the International Dyslexia Association (IDA). She previously served on the board for the Rocky Mountain Branch of the International Dyslexia Association. She has owned and operated a private practice in Denver, Abound CHildren's Therapy, for the past 13 years. She has extensive training relating to early literacy, learning disabilities, and motor speech disorders (apraxia). She is skilled in both the diagnostic assessment and treatment of language-based learning disabilities such as dyslexia. She is trained in PROMPT and the Kaufman Program for treatment of apraxia and has advanced training in the Yoshimoto Orton Gillingham approach to teaching reading. She is a recipient of the ASHA “ACE” Award for her commitment to Continuing Education.
Debra Received her B.A. in Psychology and Linguistics from the University of Manitoba, Canada in 1991. She completed her Master’s of Science Degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Minot State University, North Dakota in 1993.
