Kristina specializes in teaching young children how to become confident readers, writers, spellers and thinkers. Her approach is grounded in research-based methodology that is explicit and systematic in order to help her students improve their decoding, encoding, fluency and comprehension abilities.

Following her passion, she has continued to support students with dyslexia and students who struggle with reading for the last six years. Striving to extend her knowledge, she has earned her masters in reading from TCNJ with a reading specialist certification. Additionally, she has significant training in structured literacy methodologies including a Orton Gillingham Teacher Certification through Fairleigh Dickinson University, an accredited IMSLEC graduate level program. Kristina has also been trained in several linguistic phonics programs, including Reading Simplified, an evidence-based intervention for struggling learners.

She enjoys coaching teachers to support them with data analysis and literacy interventions. Additionally, She continues to provide professional development for teachers and administrators in the areas of structured literacy, response to intervention and using data to inform instruction. She serves on the Response to Intervention Committee where she utilizes her passion for structured literacy instruction, supporting struggling readers, and increasing equity and opportunity for all learners.
