My practice strives to help students discover their numerous gifts and explore new ways to learn, while constructively facing their challenges. With specific training in Orton-Gillingham approach and a Wilson Reading System Certificate, I bring more than 20 years of work with students with dyslexia, other learning disabilities and ADHD. I often include activities that are stress reducing, fun, and enjoyable such as mindfulness, movement and games in instructional sessions. I am a Board Certified Educational Therapist with a Ph.D. in Special Education/Educational Psychology and an M.S. in Behavioral Disabilities from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My undergraduate degrees in Education and in Special Education are from UERJ, in Brazil. Having taught in both countries and much traveled giving workshops and volunteering in various parts of the world, I gained a broad vision of humanity. I enjoy working with students who have various strengths and challenges and maintain a private practice in Educational Therapy.
