As Your Virtual Dyslexia Practitioner (https://www.yourvirtualdyslexiapractitioner.com/), I am passionate about helping people learn, whether teaching them directly, or supporting their education. I helped develop and manage Verticy Learning, a curriculum created in partnership with Jemicy School and Calvert Education Services. It was used around the world and through that experience, I felt a calling to help those who did not have trained Orton-Gillingham specialists in their area. I have been an Orton Gillingham practitioner delivering virtual reading tutoring since 2007 and am an Associate Member of the Orton-Gillingham Academy and a Structured Literacy/Dyslexia Interventionist through The Center for Effective Reading Instruction.
Currently, I provide Orton Gillingham push-in classroom and small group instruction to PreK-3 – third grade students. As a resource teacher supporting learners in PreK-3 – 8th grade, I recognize the importance of honoring the neurodiversity and neuroplasticity of all students. I still feel the joy of leaving no stone unturned until a person with whom I am working breaks their learning barrier/s and becomes empowered.
