As a Certified Special Educator for the past 25 years, a reading specialist, and a Dyslexia Interventionist, I am confident my experience and education will allow me to be an asset for this position.
I have worked with diverse groups of students with ADHD, reading disorders, learning disabilities, and speech impairments throughout my career. My skills in differentiated instruction, extensive training in reading programs and the Orton-Gillingham approach, collaborating with parents and teachers, understanding students' needs with accommodations, and multisensory lesson planning allow me to meet the needs of all learning styles.
My years of work and personal experience have taught me the value of patience and encouragement with learning differences. I work closely with students providing support necessary to thrive. Additionally, I am aware that staying connected with parents and any specialists involved will strengthen a student's success, both in and outside of the classroom.
I am a collaborative team player who always wants to impart valuable insight. With these qualities, I can facilitate a positive experience for students and educators alike.
