Provider Bio

Sara Gray Horne is twice a Tar Heel; she received her B.A. in Education and her M.Ed. in Special Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Sara Gray has held a variety of roles at Hill Learning Center in Durham—teacher, administrator, trainer—since 1984. In 1995, Sara Gray received the F. Robertson Hershey Distinguished Faculty Award. She has also been honored with two Sarah Graham Kenan Grants, one for study in the Netherlands with Duke University and one for visiting schools for students with learning differences in England. In addition, Sara Gray is qualified at the Instructor of Therapy Level (IMSLEC) and has met the requirements for the Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist designation from CERI (IDA). Sara Gray is currently a member of Hill’s Professional Learning team where she serves as a teacher educator, mentor, and project manager.
