Shannon Abercrombie is an independent educational consultant who partners with educators and schools nationwide to support high quality reading and writing instruction aligned to evidence-based practices. Over the last 22 years in education, Shannon served as a former elementary school teacher, an instructor at Texas A&M University preparing EC-Grade 8 pre-service teachers for the reading classroom, and with the Texas Education Agency as an Educational Consultant, training and coaching teachers, administrators, and district leaders to improve reading outcomes for all children. Shannon founded Abercrombie Literacy Consulting to continue her work supporting teachers and teacher leaders across the country in the implementation of structured literacy instruction. Shannon has a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education and has worked for three years on her Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction in Reading. Shannon has completed her Associate Certification with the Orton-Gillingham Academy and is a CERI CSLDI.
