Suzette Kolb holds a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology and will soon be certified by the Institute for Multisensory Education in Orton Gillingham as a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist. She worked as a Speech Language Pathologist in a variety of Special Education settings providing individualized therapy plans to students 6-21 years of age. She specialized in facilitating language lessons including phonemic awareness training (using an Orton-Gillingham approach), word analysis instruction (Wilson Reading Program, Orton Gillingham, Spire, MegaWords), decoding and spelling rules, vocabulary development, fluency training, reading comprehension strategies (i.e., Visualizing and Verbalizing), schooling in accurate grammar constructions (Framing Your Thoughts, Writing Revolution), teaching paragraph and essay formulation, (narrative, expository, descriptive, and persuasive compositions), thematic development, articulation remediation, and output skills (handwriting, keyboarding, and word processing). Moreover, Mrs. Kolb has
designed many games and activities that have targeted areas of weakness and increased motivation in her students. She is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association. Furthermore, Suzette Kolb is a New Jersey State and New York State certified Speech-Language Pathologist-CCC is a licensed TSHH in New York, and Speech-Language Specialist in New Jersey.
