Virginia "Ginny" Simank has over 10 years of experience in education. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Strategic Management from the University of North Texts followed by her Masters in Education with Reading Specialist Certification from Stephen F. Austin State University. Ginny's career in education began with preschool children. She also taught elementary special education in public and private schools in the Dallas metroplex. Ginny was trained in Orton-Gillingham instructional strategies by the Institute for Multi-Sensory Education (IMSE) which greatly impacted all her students, especially those with dyslexia. Ginny used this Structured Literacy approach for many years with students in fourth through eighth grades and in private tutoring with tremendous success. She also served on the Learning Disabilities Association of America's national Board of Directors and presented at several LDA annual conferences. Because of her experiences inside and outside the classroom, Ginny wanted to continue to advocate for the implementation of these multi sensory teaching strategies, so she began mentoring other teachers in this approach. Ginny Simank completed two intensive practicums with IMSE as well as a Train the Trainer program where she earned Level 5 Master OG Instructor. Mrs. Simank is also an IDA-CERI certified Structured Literacy Teacher. As a lifelong advocate for literacy and learning, Ginny continues to support teachers and students through her work.
