The Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading is a comprehensive evidence-based resource that outlines the knowledge and skills that all teachers should possess in order to deliver effective instruction and ensure that all children become proficient readers.

CERI certifications are designed for general education professionals interested in preventing reading failure and advancing off-track readers and for those professionals who provide targeted, remedial reading interventions to readers with profiles characteristic of, or readers identified with, Dyslexia.

Professionals graduating from an IDA Accredited Program are prepared to earn a CERI certification. IDA is currently refining the Accreditation Review Process to better support educator preparation programs prepare for Accreditation review.

To help candidates prepare for the certification exam, The Center for Effective Reading Instruction has partnered with Reading Rockets, the public broadcasting website, to offer supplemental information through their online First-year Teacher Training Modules.
